As we age our eyelashes gradually get thinner and shorter and unfortunately some people just naturally have short, sparse lashes. The medical term for insufficient eyelashes is called hypotrichosis.

There have been increasing reports recently of individuals having badly damaged lashes that are sparse and falling out, especially if false lashes and extensions are not removed professionally or just simply from overuse.
