About The Treatment
As we age we lose the natural elasticity of the skin. This combined with the constant movement of facial muscles in normal everyday expressions leads to the formation of lines and wrinkles. There are a range of treatments that can be used to help reduce and improve wrinkles.
Wrinkle relaxing treatments can be used to temporarily weaken facial muscles, causing lines to diminish after treatment as the muscles no longer contract.
If wrinkle relaxing treatments are used to treat lines that are very shallow, then often these disappear completely. If the lines are deep and permanent then other treatments such as dermal fillers or microneedling may be required for best results.

What does the treatment involve?
The treatment itself involves a series of tiny injections into the target muscles where the lines occur.
Does it hurt?
Most patients find the treatment causes mild discomfort. The injections are relatively painless as they are performed using a very fine needle. No anaesthesia is required.
Are there any side effects?
There may be mild swelling which usually subsides after about 20 minutes or so. Occasionally bruising occurs.
Why do I need a review?
We offer all our patients a free two week follow-up appointment to assess the effect of treatment and administer any top up treatments if necessary.
Is the treatment safe?
Botulinum toxin has been in medical use for over 40 years.
Wrinkle relaxing treatments are safe when they are completed by a trained medical practitioner. At VB Aesthetics, our nurse practitioners Vicki, Suzanne and Lucy are fully trained and qualified.
Will I still have expression in my face?
The treatment is designed to smooth dynamic wrinkles in the face, they do not affect your facial expression. The final result can be tailored to each patient and can be discussed during initial consultation.
Will I have to change my plans for the day?
We recommend you avoid taking any strenuous exercise for a day after treatment, as well as having any other facial treatments.
How often can I have treatments?
Treatments can be repeated at a minimum of three monthly intervals, but the effects may last longer for some individuals, especially if they have had previous treatments to the same area.
How much does it cost?
1 area - £160
2 areas - £220
3 areas - £270
Additional areas - £50
As male patients require stronger treatment, an additional £30 surcharge is added per area.
