About The Treatment
Diamond Microdermabrasion is a mechanical exfoliation treatment, it is safe and controlled and resurfaces the skin by removing the uppermost layer of dead skin cells. It does this by buffing away the skin cells using tiny rough grains. In the case of diamond micro-dermabrasion these are small grains of diamonds. The dead skin cells are then vacuumed from the skin.
The technique of microdermabrasion has been around since the 80’s and originally used crystals. Diamond microdermabrasion is used today as it gives similar results but with less discomfort and reduced reaction and redness to the skin.
The treatment is more often performed on the face but can also be used to treat other parts of the body such as chest, neck, arms, hands and back.
The treatment can be tailored to best suit your skin goals - we offer Ultra Hydration, Deep Pore Acne & Oil Control, and Skin Brightening.
Before any treatment can be suggested, you will require a consultation to ascertain your concerns, medical history and suitability.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does the treatment involve?
As the tip is moved over the face, the abrasive surface scrapes off the outermost layer of the skin. The device performs suction during the procedure so debris (dead skin cells, impurities from the pores) lifted from the skin is immediately taken away.
Does it hurt?
Most patients feel very little pain or discomfort.
Are there any side effects?
Patients may experience some redness, swelling or oedema – this will resolve in a few hours. Your skin may be flaky for a few days after the treatment.
Why is Diamond better than Crystal Microdermabrasion?
The diamond tip gives the practitioner more control. How intense the abrasion will be depends on how hard the tip is pressed against the skin, while with crystals, it depends on how sharp the crystals are - this cannot be adjusted for different areas.
Crystal Microdermabrasion runs the risk of the client and the practitioner contaminating their eyes or lungs with crystal dust. This cannot occur with Diamond Microdermabrasion.
