About the Treatment

Sclerotherapy destroys small thread veins or spider veins on the legs - tiny prominent blue or red veins of less than 1-2mm in diameter. They typically branch out in a spider-web-like pattern just below the surface of the skin.

Prominent leg veins and spider veins are a very common problem that can cause a great deal of distress and embarrassment. They can affect everyday life, from choosing what clothes to buy to dreading the summer holidays!

They may be caused by the normal ageing process, hormonal changes, prolonged standing or sitting, sun exposure, obesity, injury, and genetics.

Sclerotherapy is commonly performed on superficial veins near the surface of the skin, and does not require pain relief or analgesia. Multiple treatment sessions may be necessary to achieve optimal results, depending on the extent and severity of the veins being treated.
