About the Treatment

Thread veins, also known as spider veins (telangiectasia) are thin veins, close to the surface of the skin, which have become enlarged, and hence visible and unsightly.

ThermaVein® uses thermo-coagulation delivered via a skin probe which seals the vein walls, causing them to disappear. Unlike other treatments such as IPL and Lasers, ThermaVein® cannot cause loss of pigmentation, is suitable for all skin types, and can be used on men and women.

TheramVein® can be used on any part of the body, common treatment areas include the face and arms.

For leg veins, we offer sclerotherapy treatment in clinic.

What are the benefits of ThermaVein®?

  • Safe – little risk of burns, bruising, necrosis or pigmentation

  • Quick – treatments usually take around 20 minutes

  • Effective – the practitioner wears a visualiser headlamp that provides accurate and targeted treatment. Veins usually disappear immediately and often only one treatment is required to see significant results

  • Minimal pain – reports from patients describe it as being similar to having a hair plucked.

Before any treatment can be suggested, you will require a consultation to ascertain your concerns, medical history and suitable treatments.
